Emergency Relief
Earthquake Relief, India
On September 18, 2011, near the borders of Nepal and Tibet, a massive earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck Northeast India. In addition, heavy rains and three strong aftershocks measuring 5.1, 4.8 and 4.6 on the Richter scale, caused landslides, rock falls and loss of life. The GFF allocated 500,000 rupees for disaster relief and with help of donations from private citizens in Singapore, and in coordination with AmeriCares, provided supplies of basic necessities to people affected. By the end of January 2012, almost 400 cartons of supplies including food, blankets and medicine had been delivered to schools, old age homes, charity missions and villages throughout the region.
Solomon Islands Cyclone Relief

In February 2011 when Cyclone Yasi hit the Pacific it affected the Solomon Islands. A ship with relief supplies was loaded up in New Zealand but was unable to sail as there was no funding for the fuel.
The Glenn Family Foundation swiftly provided the funds necessary (US$40,000) to get the supplies up to the Islands.
Honduras Hurricane

When a major hurricane hit the Caribbean island of Honduras in 1998, its 285mph winds wrought havoc. The Glenn Family Foundation provided free packing and shipping of donated goods to enable these to get to Honduras quickly.
The Haiti Earthquake

When most of Haiti was reduced to rubble
in the 7.0 magnitude January 2010 earthquake, the GFF provided free
carriage of donated materials to assist the emergency relief effort.
Tsunami in Samoa

After the 2006 tsunami, many Samoan coastal villages were left without houses. The GFF swung into action, providing free carriage of housing materials to enable new fales (houses) to be built.
